Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and finely diced

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat and lightly grease your waffle maker.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold the diced apples into the batter.
  • Spoon batter into the waffle maker and cook for 4–6 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Carefully remove the waffle donuts and allow them to cool slightly.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm waffle donuts.
  • Allow the glaze to set before serving.

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the donuts soft and fluffy.
  • Add 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg for extra apple fritter flavor.
  • Best served warm and fresh.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in an air fryer or toaster oven for the best texture.
