Ingredients
Scale
Cake:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ¾ tsp baking powder
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- ½ cup warm water or coffee
Frosting:
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pan.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Stir in warm water or coffee.
- Pour into pan and bake 35–40 minutes.
- Let cool completely.
- Melt chocolate chips and mix with sour cream and vanilla.
- Spread frosting over cake and serve.
Notes
- Use coffee instead of water for deeper flavor
- Do not overbake to keep cake moist
